BDSA announce new partnership with the Chartered Institute of the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA)
The British DanceSport Association is pleased to announce that it has become a Training Provider Partner of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).
CIMSPA is the UK's professional development body for the sport and physical activity sector. Through its work, CIMSPA supports the development of professionals and organisations, promotes continuing professional development, and raises professional standards across the sector.
This partnership demonstrates the BDSA's ongoing commitment to strengthening the professional dance industry, developing the dance workforce, and embedding high standards of professionalism across all areas of dance Sport. By aligning its education and training provision with CIMSPA's recognised standards, the BDSA is further supporting the professional development of coaches, volunteers, officials and practitioners throughout the sector.
Recognition through CIMSPA provides assurance that BDSA training and development opportunities are aligned with industry best practice and meet recognised professional standards. This external recognition enhances the credibility of BDSA qualifications and training programmes, while helping to position dance sport within the wider sport and physical activity sector.
Through continued investment in professional development and workforce training, the BDSA aims to raise standards across the dance sport community and help ensure that everyone involved in the sport, from grassroots participants and community dancers to elite competitors, coaches and volunteers, benefits from a safe, supportive and professionally led environment.
As part of this partnership, the BDSA will also be seeking individual accreditation for its courses. Accreditation will provide learners with additional confidence that BDSA programmes meet the highest sector standards and are formally recognised as delivering quality professional development.
