Tricks

Tricks dance is an athletic and visually exciting style focused on impressive skills, dynamic movements, and performance impact. It often includes elements from acro, gymnastics, street dance, jazz, and contemporary, depending on the dancer’s training and the style of routine.

Movements may include jumps, turns, kicks, leaps, flips, freezes, balances, walkovers, aerials, spins, floorwork, and controlled tumbling skills. These are usually performed as standout moments within choreography, helping to add energy, difficulty, and excitement to a routine.

Strong technique and safe progression are especially important in Tricks dance. Dancers need strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, spatial awareness, and controlled landings to perform skills confidently and reduce the risk of injury.

This style is commonly seen in competitions, showcases, stage performances, commercial routines, and social media dance content. Tricks dance allows performers to demonstrate physical ability, confidence, creativity, and stage presence while adding memorable highlights to their performance.
