Street Jazz
Street Jazz is a high-energy dance style that combines the sharp technique and performance quality of jazz with the rhythm, attitude, and urban influence of street dance. It is bold, expressive, and often performed to pop, hip hop, R&B, or commercial music.
The style often includes strong grooves, sharp arm lines, isolations, turns, kicks, floorwork, travelling steps, and dynamic changes in speed and direction. Choreography can feel powerful, stylish, playful, or dramatic, depending on the music and theme.
Street Jazz places strong emphasis on musicality, confidence, precision, coordination, and stage presence. Dancers need to perform with energy and personality while maintaining clean technique and control.
It is commonly seen in competitions, showcases, music videos, theatre performances, and dance classes. Street Jazz is an exciting and versatile style that allows dancers to combine technical dance skills with individuality, rhythm, and expressive performance.
