Street Dance

Street Dance is an energetic and expressive style that developed outside traditional dance studios, often influenced by social dance, club culture, hip hop, funk, breakin’, popping, locking, house, and freestyle movement.

The style is known for its rhythm, individuality, confidence, musicality, and strong connection to the music. Movements can include grooves, footwork, isolations, freezes, waves, jumps, slides, floorwork, and sharp or fluid body actions, depending on the style being used.

Street Dance encourages dancers to bring their own personality and creativity to the movement. Freestyle, improvisation, and personal expression are important parts of the style, alongside learning set choreography and group routines.

It requires coordination, stamina, rhythm, body control, and performance confidence. Street Dance is commonly seen in classes, competitions, battles, showcases, music videos, stage performances, and social settings.

It is a versatile and exciting dance style that celebrates creativity, individuality, community, and the powerful connection between movement and music.
