Gymnastics

Gymnastics dance is an athletic and dynamic performance style that combines dance movement with gymnastics-based skills. It focuses on strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, control, and precision, creating routines that are both powerful and visually impressive.

This style often includes movements such as rolls, handstands, cartwheels, walkovers, leaps, jumps, balances, turns, and controlled tumbling skills. These elements are usually linked together with dance choreography, musicality, and expressive movement so the routine feels smooth and connected rather than simply a series of tricks.

Gymnastics dance requires strong technique and safe progression. Dancers need good body alignment, core strength, flexibility, spatial awareness, and controlled landings to perform skills confidently and reduce the risk of injury. Training often builds from basic floor skills and balances through to more advanced acrobatic movements.

It is commonly seen in competitions, showcases, school performances, and display work. Gymnastics dance is an exciting style that allows performers to combine athletic ability with creativity, discipline, and stage presence.
